Boots Allen is at it again. This week he's tying up the classic Double Humpy but adding some legs for some added action on the water. Find more fly tying patterns in our searchable library with the drop down menu on the right.
Boots Allen has tied a bunch of patterns for us. He's a fly tier, guide, author, and lifelong resident of the Tetons. He fishes the Snake River, the Henry's Fork, and many more in the area but also has deep experience fishing for salt water species in Central America and for Taimen in Mongolia and many other global locales.
Recipe:
Hook: Any standard dry fly hook, sizes 6 to 10.
Thread: Yellow, orange, green, or red 3/0 flat wax.
Legs: white rubber legs marked with black sharpy
Tail and Body: Mule deer hair from the neck and facial area.
Hackle: Fine grizzly hackle. I typically will use silver or gold label hackle from Whiting Farms.
